How to Cancel Unwanted Subscriptions in India (2026)
Cancel Netflix, Prime, Spotify, ChatGPT Plus, and every UPI AutoPay mandate the fastest way — including what to do when the merchant hides the button.
Cancellation in India runs on three rails: (1) the merchant's own account page for cards and direct billing, (2) your UPI app's Manage Mandates screen for UPI AutoPay, and (3) Google Play / App Store subscription lists for app-store billing. If you only cancel on the merchant, a live UPI mandate can still trigger a fresh charge — you have to close both ends.
For merchant cancellation: log in to the service's website (not the app — cancel buttons are often hidden in mobile UIs), go to Account → Membership or Billing, and cancel before the next renewal date. Screenshot the confirmation.
For UPI AutoPay: open PhonePe / GPay / Paytm / your bank's app, find Autopay or Manage Mandates, and pause or revoke the mandate. This blocks the charge even if the merchant delays your cancellation.
For app-store billing: iPhone → Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Android → Play Store → Subscriptions. Cancel there and the charge stops immediately.
